In the field of Consumer Education, EKPIZO commenced a pioneering, multidimensional and diversified work during 1995-2010. Among other activities, this work includes consumer information campaigns, specifically for young people, participation in National and European schemes, cooperation with ministries, organizations, schools and universities both nationally and at a European level, as well as design of educational materials for children, teens and adults. The main purpose of Consumer Education is to address a wide range of issues concerning the rights and the protection of the consumers, product safety, nutrition, product labeling, financial services, advertising, sustainable consumption and the environment. After 2010, these activities have been limited due to lack of resources and specialized work force, even though both EKPIZO and the consumers, especially scholars, are still highly interested in these activities. Coordination, at national level, of the European Young Consumers Competition (1994-1998). This was the first official involvement of EKPIZO in Consumer Education. The table below shows the number of entries in the competition per country and the rewarding contribution of EKPIZO.

Organizing numerous talks to parents and students on issues concerning the rights and protection of the consumers, product safety, nutrition, product labeling, financial services, advertising, sustainable consumption and the environment.
Participation in conferences and seminars, such as the conference organized by the Center for Educational Research and Documentation of OLME in 1996, conferences organized by the European School of Consumers in Rome in 2008 within the context of the European E-cons Network in Valencia, Spain 2009 and within the framework of the ENFORMA scheme, seminars organized by the Environmental Education and Health Education Officers of Regional Directorate of Primary and Secondary Education.
Supporting Health Education and Consumer Education programs in schools by organizing experiential workshops, educating parents and students and organizing student visit to our office.
Participation in national programs, such as the ones organized by the Ministry of Employment and Social Protection (2008) within the framework of “ Action aid for the unemployed with the active participation of NGOs”.
Participation in European programs, such as CE-2000 and ECons offering Consumer Education, Active Citizens program offering adult consumer education and Grundtvig assistant offering training to the members of EKPIZO in institutions abroad.
Erasmus+ program proposal submission in collaboration with “Athena” Institute of NTUA.
Setting up a school network, around 101 schools, aiming to promote Consumer Education.
Co-operation with the Ministry of Education, Environmental and Health Education Officers by supporting school activities.
Designing teaching and educational materials that include experiential workshops, worksheets, power point presentations, educational CD-ROM etc.
Writing books and creating leaflets, with indicative topics “Anna and Theano go to the supermarket”, “Exploring Consumption”, “Consumer Classroom”, “Green Consumerism Guide”, “My mobile phone”, “Water: abundant yet inefficient”
Article circulation in the magazine of EKPIZO, newspapers and other periodicals.
Organizing events and press conferences due to our participation in national and Europeans programs and seminars regarding Consumer Education, such as the ones organized in Thessaloniki (2004,2005) in collaboration with the local Chamber of Tradesmen and also in Athens (2008) within the context of the Ministry of Employment scheme.
Conducting research on issues like, “Internet use by students” in collaboration with private schools and also “Television and Children” in collaboration with the National Center for Social Research.
